Manufactured in 1855. Factory engraved with a slash marked denoting factory embellishment near the matching barrel, frame, trigger guard, and back strap. Cylinder, wedge, loading lever, and arbor pin are also numbered to the gun. "Sam Colt" engraved barrel. "COLTS/PATENT" engraved frame. Period partitioned case contains lead balls and bullets, brass bullet mold, double sided eagle powder flask, cap tin, "L" shaped combination tool.
Condition: Very good overall with a smooth gray patina, traces of original blue finish remaining on the barrel, most of the original silver plating remaining on the grip straps, crisp engraving, grip with very attractive mellow aged appearance. Mechanically needs work as cylinder does not rotate when cylinder is cycled. The relined case is very good.
