Colt Archive Collection Agent Revolver with Factory Letter

Manufactured in 1975, the included factory letter confirms the revolver as initially being a part of the firm's Engineering Archives collection (made available to the Custom Shop, Engineering, and Historical departments of Colt) as well as its configuration, including a two inch barrel in .38 Special caliber, blue finish, and wood grips, when sent to Butterfield & Butterfield Fine Art Auctioneers & Appraisers in San Francisco, California, on May 20, 1996. The factory letter further details that the revolver was a part of the Colt's Archive collection that was consigned by the firm for auction purposes. Features fixed ramped blade front and matted top-strap notch rear sights, The two-line Colt address roll-marked on the right side of the barrel with the two-line model and caliber designations on the left side, Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame, along with Colt "triangle/VP" and "J" factory proofs stamped on the left side of the trigger guard. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips with silver Colt Medallion inserts

Condition

Excellent plus, retaining 99% plus original bright blue finish with a very faint cylinder drag line, limited handling evidence, and crisp roll-markings. The grips are also excellent with original light oil finish and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. A chance to own a very attractive Colt Agent revolver that was initially retained by the firm for its own Engineering Archive collection!
