Manufactured in 1863, with the brass gripstraps later engraved with fine punch-dot backed scrollwork, the backstrap also inscribed "J C Ruddle"; Ruddle has not been positively identified. Dovetailed silver blade front and hammer notch rear sights, with matching external numbers and a smooth one-piece ivory grip.
Condition
Fine as refinished, with edge wear, shallow pitting, and mild scuffs and dings. The frame has turned silver, with traces of bright color around the recoil shield, and the hammer retains 5 out of 6 safety pins. Grip is fine, with a few scuffs, attractive color and grain. Cylinder timing is a bit off, otherwise mechanically excellent.
